I remember when I was a bit younger and going to a baptist church, they made a really big thing of the somber Good Friday services. Very organized and theatrical, it was dark with candles and lots of beautiful songs doing their best to drive home the significance of Jesus' death. The latest episode of This American Life is about heretics -- namely one incredibly influential pentecostal preacher with a congregation of 5,000 who believes he heard God one day tell him hell does not exist.  And thus became a heretic.

It's a fascinating listen. 

You know what I love about Christmas? Aside from the story and the eggnog lattes, I mean? Heading across town to the church with the Drive-Thru Nativity.
